Your deepest convictions affect every decision you make. As a church, we feel the same. And so we rely on scripture as our foundation for faith practice and unity in Him.
These following statements should help you understand the biblical ideas that most fundamentally define who we are.
We believe that there is one God eternally existing in the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. He is creator of all things. (Gen. 1:1-2:3, 2 Cor. 13:14, John 1:1-4, Matt. 3:16-17, Deut. 6:4)
We believe in Jesus Christ, God in human flesh, who came to this world to show us how to live and to die for our sins. We believe he was bodily raised from the dead. (John 1:14, Matt. 7:24, Heb. 9:14-15, Rom. 8:3, 1 Cor. 15:3-8)
We believe in the Holy Spirit, The Spirit of the Living God, who draws people to Christ and who lives in every person who has received Christ. (John 16:7-10, John 14: 16-17, 26, Acts 2:38, Eph. 1:13-14, 1 Cor. 6:19)
We believe the word of God is True. All Scripture is God breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking correcting, and training in righteous. As such it is the authority for matters of faith and Christian practice. (Psalm 33:4, Num. 23:19, 2 Tim. 3:14-17, John 17:17)
We believe that humans willfully sin and as a result, are lost and without hope of having a relationship with God apart from Jesus Christ. (Rom. 3:22-24, Rom. 6:23, John 14:6-7)
We believe that salvation, forgiveness, & reconciliation to God, is available only by the grace of God through the blood of Jesus Christ. This free gift of salvation is offered to all who receive Christ as Lord and Savior. (Acts 4:11-12, Eph. 2:8-13, John 3:16-18, Rev. 22:16-17, Col. 2:6-7)
We believe the New Testament teaches that the pattern of receiving Christ is to believe in Jesus as God’s Son, repent of sin, confess Christ publicly, be baptized and continue walking in the example of Jesus. (Rom. 10:8-15, Acts 2:38, Matt. 10:32, Mk. 16:15-16, 1 John 2:6)
We believe that baptism as used in the New Testament is immersion under water. Baptism was and is important to Jesus as seen by Jesus’ own example and command, and best depicts our union with Christ in His death, burial, and resurrection. (Acts 8:36-39, Matt. 3:13-17, Matt. 28:19-20, Rom. 6:3-4, Acts 2:37-41, Gal. 3:26-27)
We believe that the Church is the body and bride of Christ on earth, the family of believers everywhere. The church’s mission is to go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything that Jesus has commanded. (Matt. 16:16-18, Rom. 12:5, Rev. 19:6-9, 1 Peter 2:16-17, Matt. 28:16-20, Acts 2:42-47)
We believe that people are destined to die once and after that to face judgment. Those who are not forgiven will be eternally separated from God, those who are forgiven will spend eternity with God. (Heb. 9:27-28, Acts 17:31, Dan. 12:2, John 5:28-29, 2 Cor. 4:13-18)
